Dhadak (transl. Heartbeat; Hindi pronunciation: [d̪əʱɽək]) is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language tragic romance film directed by Shashank Khaitan, produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios and stars Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter in lead roles. The film is a remake of the 2016 Marathi language film Sairat. Dhadak, which was originally scheduled to release on 6 July 2018 got postponed and had it’s worldwide theatrical released on 20 July 2018. Dhadak, a remake of Sairat is a movie about Madhukar and Parthavi who feel something familiar, something pure, but as their love blossoms, so does their problems. Torn between society and their families, their fate became uncertain. DHADAK is a simple, passionate story about first love. The couple elope after they are caught kissing & elope to Kolkata. Madhu finds a job in a dhaba & Parthavi gets a job in a call center. Few years later it’s shown that she gave birth to a boy Aaditya. They buy a new house & Parthavi calls her mother to invite her for ghar pooja but her dad answers the call. It’s shown the next day Parthavi’s brother & his goons arrive at their new house offering sweets & clothes for all as a sign of reconciliation. Parthavi is shown going to a nearby sweet cart to buy sweets and upon returning to her house Madhu & Aaditya is shown thrown from the balcony.
